I Don't Know Where to Start.
If you’ve ever been at a place where you felt completely and totally lost, you understand what I’m talking about. Not knowing where to start or what to do next is one of the deepest feelings of lostness one can experience. Today, I want to dig into this idea of what do I do, when I don’t know what to do next? Where do I start when I don’t know where to start?
A couple of...

Want to Create a Digital Haven?
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could watch all your DVD’s or BluRay’s without ever getting off the couch? In a new world of comfort and ease, I can show you how without spending a lot of money.
Last week I posted about why I got rid of all of my DVD’s in favor of an AppleTV. This week I would like to talk about how I set it up.
What I used:
iTunes
Dropbox

Do you feel strong today?
This simple thought could change the way you approach your week.
I was taught (like many of us) to work on my areas of weakness. Now, I’m not talking about character flaws, I’m talking areas where I’m really not that good. It’s almost second nature to look at areas of weakness and want to improve. After all, nobody likes to feel like a failure… Right?

Want To Be a Better Leader?
Leaders are ____________.
What comes to mind? Influencers, world-changers, innovators, egocentric, power-hungry… Many times our association with leaders has more to do with personality quirks or individual leaders rather than really what it means to be a leader.
Being a leader can mean many different things to many different people. But when it comes down to becoming a better leader it...

I Love Owning an NFL Franchise!
Last year when the stock opened again for my favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, I bought one share. That’s right, I invested into stock that is not worth any money and may never rise in value. But technically I own .001% of the team… It’s memorable. I remember opening up the package and reading these words, “We are the Green Bay Packers. We are co-authors of one of the...

Why I Got Rid of All My DVD's
I love it when products or services enhance the quality of my life. Making one’s life better is an innate human desire, it’s hardwired inside of us, yet it is completely subjective. What enhances your life may not enhance my life and vice-versa. That being said I want to give props to some products that I believe have made my life better, easier or just more fun!

Today I was looking at a journal entry that I had written in 2004 — a month before we moved to Detroit to plant Real Church. I was feeling overwhelmed by my lack of experience, financial support, housing and many other details. Crazy!
It was obvious, in my notes, that the Holy Spirit…

What do you want?
According to Dr. Frank Luntz, author of What Americans Really Want… Really, the number one thing most Americans desire is a loving family.
More than good health,
More than financial security,
More than happiness,
More than a great career,
More than going to heaven…
People desire a loving family. In this day and age it is becoming increasingly more difficult to raise our...

The Most Valuable Thing You Can Give
Harvest Time, the church I am a part of is about to go into a series where we’re going to be talking about getting out of debt and what it means to give. I started think about the most valuable thing in my life… my daughter.
Aside from my wife, my daughter is the most important person in my life. We prayed for her for years - she literally is a miracle! Each day I wake up to her...

Steve Jobs Commencement Speech at Stanford in 2005
I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I’ve ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That’s it. No big deal. Just three stories.
The first story is about connecting the dots.

Strategy
Change has a tendency to sneak up on you even when you’re expecting it. We can plan and plan and plan but ultimately all we can do many times is roll with the punches. Lately I’ve been focusing a lot on how I can help people move from where they are (spiritually) to where they want to be (spiritually). I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about and creating systems. Systems...

Fields
“Open your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ready for harvest.” (Jn 4:35)
Do you see them? I say them because “them” is the harvest. Not a literal harvest but real people (many of whom we know and love) that need a REAL Savior. If you DO see them… pray.
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to...
